AirPower: Apple’s wireless charging protocol
Apple’s long-awaited AirPower charging pads are soon to make a debut. This has been speculated from all the charging pad related teasers that were present across the web. Apple floated the teaser in the form of prints related to the charging pad on AirPods’ packaging. Remember September 2017 when we were introduced to the charging pads alongside iPhone X’s release. Apple at that event had stated that the much-awaited charging pad would be made available to users by the first quarter of 2018. However, technical and manufacturing hitches delayed the release of the AirPower pad. Gestures have been made towards such developments as- the AirPower pad will charge multiple supported Apple devices at 15W speeds, which is double the rate of other third-party Qi chargers, and it has geared the users with pre-guided pictorial instructions for charging the AirPods, which appear in the form of pictures printed on the AirPod case.
